Panasonic DMC-TS1

I upgrade my aging Olympus 720sw to a Panasonic DMC-TS1. I was never really happy with the 720sw. Mostly using my Nikon SLRs the Olympus was simply slow with sub par pictures. I got it for Travel and other times the bigger camera were a bit much. I did really like the fact it could go in the pool or ocean. I looked a lot of other cameras in this segment. They included: Pentax w60 and w80, Olympus 6000 and 8000 tough, Sanyo VPC-CA9 and the Casio G-Shock. With help from online reviews like the one on dpreview.com and some in store playing It was a pretty easy choice. The only other one I really might have considered was the Pentax. Only because of the timelapse feature. What does the Panasonic have going for it? The lens 28mm wide angle, which is more important than a long zoom. How many time are you backing up to fit everybody in. It also has a video light works great to capture the kid dancing in their room or blowing out candles. So far my only complaint is the zoom button. Its a bit hard to operate as it is to close to the shutter button. I'll post more after I have used it a bit.
